Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator commented on the findings:

“This study offers a perspective on the increasing use of social media across the United States and how much of the population uses the internet to access these platforms. It has become essential to have some sort of online presence to communicate with other users worldwide and remain up to date on global events.

“Whilst these results do not highlight which social media platforms were used in each state, it could be suggested that the release of TikTok in 2016 may have a significant impact on the number of social media users between 2015 and 2021. The number of people using TikTok skyrocketed during this period, especially among teenagers.

“It would be interesting to see whether these percentages and population figures have continued to increase across the United States in recent years, especially with the US senate now attempting to limit access to TikTokwith a countrywide ban.”
