Bluecrest Wellness and CheqUp join forces to support healthier weight management and long-term health in the UK

New partnership marks the next step in CheqUp’s strategy to build a more complete weight health offering

CheqUp and Bluecrest Wellness have launched a new UK partnership bringing together CheqUp’s clinically supported weight management service with Bluecrest’s private health assessments.

The partnership is a significant step in CheqUp’s ambition to build a more connected Weight Health ecosystem by working with established leaders across the health and weight management market. This partnership brings together clinical treatment and preventative health insight.

A connected model for Weight Health

Almost two thirds (64%) of adults in England are either overweight or living with obesity1, and demand for health assessments is rising – with Bluecrest completing around 160,000 a year.

CheqUp’s partnership with Bluecrest is based on a shared belief that weight should not be treated in isolation, and together they form a connected ecosystem which provides customers with a more joined-up service. For CheqUp, that belief sits at the heart of Weight Health: sustained, clinically supported, and behaviourally anchored care that treats weight as a long-term health outcome, not simply a number to chase.

The announcement comes after the NHS recently expanded access to weight-loss medications to more than a million people in England with heart health issues2, reflecting growing recognition of how GLP-1 medication can help reduce the risk of serious conditions such as heart attacks and strokes. But CheqUp believes medication is only one part of the answer, with long-term progress requiring clinical oversight, behaviour change and a clearer understanding of wider health markers working together.

A more informed and structured approach to long-term health

As part of the new partnership, CheqUp members will be referred to Bluecrest to be able to understand their health at the start of their journey through a Bluecrest assessment and track meaningful improvements, like changes to blood markers and body composition, as they progress through the programme.

Meanwhile, Bluecrest customers identified as being at risk of weight-related health conditions can be referred directly into CheqUp’s clinically supported programme, giving them access to expert guidance, ongoing support and a sustainable approach to long-term health improvement. All and any treatment offered through CheqUp is clinically led, reviewed and approved for the individual.

Together, CheqUp and Bluecrest share a longer-term ambition that goes beyond this partnership alone: to help shift the UK’s approach to weight health from reactive to preventative. Too many people only seek support after a health problem has already taken hold. By connecting early health intelligence with structured, clinically supported intervention, the two companies want to demonstrate that sustained weight health improvement is achievable at scale, and that the right combination of insight, access and ongoing support can make a meaningful difference to long-term health outcomes across the country.

Lisa Tookey, CEO at CheqUp, said: “For many people, weight is just the starting point, and it is often connected to wider health risks. It is vital that people have a clearer picture of their health as they decide what to do next and this partnership ensures this essential process is all happening in one place. Our work with Bluecrest strengthens the holistic support we can provide by helping people understand where they stand, access the right support and keep track of their progress over time. We see this as yet another important partnership that adds significantly to the tailored support we provide to our members.”

Dominique Kent, CEO at Bluecrest Wellness, said: “This partnership is about helping people take action on their health with more clarity and confidence. A health assessment can be an important first step, but people also need to know what they can do about it and what support is available for them. This partnership with CheqUp will ensure we help eligible adults move from insight to action in a more joined-up and supportive way and ensure they’re getting the best support they need on their ongoing health journey.”

CheqUp, which supports more than 60,000 members in the UK, and Bluecrest, which operates at over 400 locations nationwide and has conducted over 1.3 million assessments, believe linking health assessments with clinically reviewed treatment pathways will help people better understand their health, make informed decisions and track progress over time.
