CF (Carnall Farrar) has won two categories at the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Awards 2026: Best Use of Thought Leadership, for its work with Boehringer Ingelheim on chronic kidney disease, and Strategy, for its work with NHS South West London Integrated Care Board (ICB).

The awards, announced last night at London’s Grosvenor Hotel, recognise excellence and innovation across the UK consulting sector. With these wins, CF’s work has now been recognised at the MCA Awards, as a winner or highly commended, for nine consecutive years. The awards included:

Best Use of Thought Leadership, with Boehringer Ingelheim

In partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim, CF produced a national case for change on chronic kidney disease (CKD) in England, a condition affecting more than seven million people. The analysis showed that CKD is linked to 11% of cardiovascular deaths and exposed stark, deprivation-driven inequalities in both diagnosis and treatment. CF’s modelling found that earlier identification and treatment at scale could save more than 6,000 lives a year. A Greater Manchester case study showed how the national evidence can translate into local commissioning decisions. Read the full entry here.

Strategy, with NHS South West London ICB

NHS South West London ICB commissioned CF to develop a 10-year clinically led strategic plan for its 1.9 million residents across six London boroughs. Using its Health Strata population segmentation tool, CF identified more than £1.2 billion in opportunities across commissioner and provider organisations. The plan is projected to prevent 28,000 people from developing a serious health condition, reduce the number of hospital beds needed by 17%, and move the system from significant deficit to surplus by 2035/36. All five acute trusts in South West London have since adopted the forecasts as the basis for their own strategic planning. Read the full entry here.

Hannah Farrar, CF Chief Executive Officer and Founder, said:

“We are delighted to win in both categories, and we share these awards with our clients. Our work with Boehringer Ingelheim brought the scale of chronic kidney disease, and the inequalities within it, into clear view. In South West London, the ICB and Trusts now have a shared plan for the next decade and the tools to keep it current. Both reflect what we care about most: evidence that leads to action and to better health for people. Thank you to our teams, our clients, the judges and the MCA.”

Ben Richardson, Managing Partner Life Sciences and Health Investing, said:

“We thank our clients for putting their confidence in us. These projects are cutting-edge approaches to the use of the world’s best longitudinal linked data sets. They’ve created new insights that health systems and life sciences companies can act on to achieve a triple win for patients, health systems and the companies partnering with them. The South West London work revealed the drivers of healthcare cost and offers a route map for better outcomes for the money being spent. The Boehringer Ingelheim work shone a spotlight on stages 1 and 2 of chronic kidney disease as a missed opportunity to avoid progression to dialysis and transplants. In both cases they are examples of how clients are pursuing the need to test, diagnose and treat patients to target to improve population health.”

A Year of Growth

2026 has been a year of growth for CF. Following its full launch in Saudi Arabia in 2025, the company is expanding into Ireland and exploring a new base in the north of England, bringing its team closer to the clients and communities it serves.

It also continues to hire across the business and is investing in new data platforms that strengthen its analytical capabilities. It supports clients across the health sector with some of their most complex challenges: large-scale system transformation and finance and performance improvement for the NHS, growth for health investors, and faster uptake of innovation for life sciences companies.

Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and winners. The full list of winners is available on the MCA website.
