New system digitises balloon inflation and balloon-mounted stent deployment in vascular intervention, enhancing control, consistency, and data capture in cath-labs, and supplying a precision-controlled subsystem that feeds the multimodal data layer Sentante’s robotic platform records on every procedure
Sentante, the medical robotics company developing next-generation endovascular technologies, today unveiled Inflante — a precision-controlled digital indeflator designed to modernise balloon inflation, improve clinical control and procedural consistency. As a digital subsystem, Inflante contributes pressure profiles, inflation timing, and procedural state to the multi-modal data layer that the broader Sentante platform records — the substrate that endovascular Physical AI builds on.
The system replaces the traditional manual indeflator — a widely used analogue tool — with a digitally controlled interface offering digitisation, repeatability, and real-time feedback. The launch marks a key step in Sentante’s strategy to digitise the cath-lab, complementing its robotic platform and advancing toward a fully integrated, data-driven workflow.
Digitising a critical step in vascular intervention
Balloon inflation is central to procedures such as angioplasty and stent deployment, yet remains manual, with limited precision and no structured data capture.
Inflante introduces:
- Digital pressure control with high-resolution adjustment.
- Real-time feedback and monitoring.
- Integrated data capture — pressure profiles, inflation timing, and procedural state — feeding the multimodal substrate that Sentante’s broader Physical AI roadmap consumes.
By reducing manual variability, the system aims to improve outcomes while lowering clinician cognitive load.
Building toward a digital, robotics-enabled cath-lab
The product integrates with existing cath-lab workflows while supporting Sentante’s broader robotic and remote intervention platform. The system reflects a wider shift toward precision, standardisation, and data-driven care.
“Endovascular procedures are still full of analogue steps that introduce variability,” said Edvardas Satkauskas, co-founder and CEO of Sentante. “Our digital indeflator transforms one of those steps into a precise, data-rich process within a fully digital ecosystem.”
Enhancing clinician experience and patient safety
Manual indeflators require continuous operation and interpretation, increasing workload and risk of inconsistency. Sentante’s system enables:
- More stable inflation, reducing over- or under-pressurisation risk.
- Reduced manual strain, allowing focus on decision-making.
- Improved reproducibility for training and standardisation.
“Precision in pressure control is fundamental,” said Dr. Tomas Baltrūnas, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer. “Digitising this process improves control today while enabling better learning and outcomes over time.”
From standalone device to integrated system
Inflante is being developed both as a standalone tool and as part of Sentante’s robotic platform, supporting future remote and semi-autonomous procedures. In the future, digitised subsystems will enable:
- Remote interventions.
- Closed-loop procedural control.
- AI-assisted workflows.
Regulatory pathway and next steps
Inflante is CE marked in Europe and it progresses through FDA regulatory pathways as a stand-alone device.
Addressing growing demand in vascular care
Rising demand for endovascular procedures, driven by ageing populations and cardiovascular disease, is increasing pressure on healthcare systems. By digitising core steps, Sentante aims to improve access, efficiency, and outcomes.
“Every step we digitise is a step toward more consistent, scalable and accessible treatment,” added Satkauskas.
About Sentante
Sentante is a medical robotics company founded in 2017 building a haptic, device-agnostic endovascular platform that enables clinicians to perform complex vascular procedures remotely with full tactile feedback. Designed to integrate with existing cath-lab infrastructure, Sentante aims to expand access, improve clinician safety, and elevate procedural consistency across peripheral vascular, neurovascular and cardiovascular applications.
