Everyone living in Andover, Basingstoke, Winchester and surrounding towns and villages will have the opportunity to take a tour behind the scenes at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust during an annual event.
As part of the Trust’s Annual General Meeting, which will take place at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital on Tuesday July 16, members of the public are invited to book a place on special tours, where they will find out more about radiology services, including x-ray, CT, ultrasounds to see first-hand the technology used to care for patients each day.
As part of the community event, an interactive exhibition is also open to all, offering the chance to talk to experts from a range of departments across the Trust, which runs Andover War Memorial Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.
Members of the public can try their hand at a clinical skills test, talk to experts from a range of departments, including the team from the emergency departments in Basingstoke and Winchester, learn all about how Hampshire Hospitals is ‘going green’ and more.
Orthopaedic consultant Mr Kevin Conn will host a talk on the evolution of orthopaedic surgery and some of the major advances which are improving the lives of patients.
Mr Conn is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at Hampshire Hospitals, with a particular interest in lower limb surgery and is also a staff governor of the Trust, representing medical and dental staff at Hampshire Hospitals.
The free event will take place at The Ark, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, on Tuesday 16 July and is open to all, though spaces on the radiology tours are limited. The exhibition will get underway from 5:30pm, before the talks begin at 7pm. To book your place on a radiology tour, visit https://hhftradiologytour.eventbrite.co.uk.
