O.S.L.E.R., developed by TORTUS, captures audio, transcribes, generates notes, letters and codes during any patient consultation. TORTUS has chosen xycare, a provider of specialist two-way integration with GP systems, to integrate O.S.L.E.R. with EMIS, SystmOne and Vision. Dr Dave Triska, a general practitioner from Witley Surgery , said “…clinic days can be marathons.
Between consultations, paperwork, and keeping up with everything, it’s easy to feel burnt out by the end of the week. One of the biggest challenges I faced was juggling note-taking during consultations. It took my focus away from the patient, and let’s be honest, sometimes details fell through the cracks. Trying to remember tasks, ‘extras’ mentioned by the patient and stressing about the rest of the clinic. I looked around trying to find something that would change my day – I’d tried voice dictation before, and while quicker than typing I still had to remember what had happened and organise it into coherent notes. Having seen all the AI hype, I thought ‘something must be around that can help. And then I found O.S.L.E.R.. It’s a game-changer…”
With integration, clinicians will be able to save, with a single click, to their EHR, coded clinical data, free text and documents as consultations linked to the relevant problem or referral and displayed within the EHR in the same way as when manually inputted.
xycare’s specialist technology, experience and skills are helping TORTUS to establish quickly a reliable, accurate two-way app integration with all the record systems, removing the need for investment in specialist development skill sets and ensuring the accuracy of the coding of the clinical data.
Dr Dom Pimenta, co-founder and CEO at TORTUS, said, “When O.S.L.E.R. is integrated with clinical record systems, clinicians are empowered to work more efficiently and are freed from more capacity- draining administrative tasks.. The team at xycare provide a development toolkit and critical support during the accreditation process and reduce the cost, resources and anxiety associated with clinical record system integration. We are already seeing demand for O.S.L.E.R. in General Practice and throughout the health service. Working with xycare allows us to achieve integration quickly and
inexpensively without getting bogged down in the details of the different record systems or their APIs.”
Dr Ian Rubin, Chief Executive at xycare, said, “We are delighted to be working with TORTUS, whose application fulfils a vital clinical need as demand for healthcare grows and pressure on healthcare professionals is relentless. We’ve perfected two-way GP system integration, account and user
management so health technology providers like TORTUS can concentrate on creating innovative solutions that improves clinicians’ and patients’ lives.”
