A recent national survey has found that patients have trust in the staff providing care at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT).
More than 600 patients who were treated at Hampshire Hospitals and stayed for at least one night in November 2023 responded as part of a national inpatient survey, carried out annually by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) across 131 NHS trusts in England.
In the survey, which sought feedback from patients covering a range of themes about the patient journey and their experiences, patients gave scores of 9.1 and 9.0 out of 10 when asked whether they had confidence and trust in the doctors and nurses treating them. Hampshire Hospitals also scored 9.3 out of 10 on questions related to patients feeling they were treated with kindness, compassion, respect and dignity.
Additionally, the Trust scored 8.9 out of 10 when patients were asked whether they were happy with the level of information provided about their condition or treatment, with 8.8 out of 10 the score given in response to whether they felt hospital staff did everything they could to control their pain.
Julie Dawes, chief nurse at Hampshire Hospitals, said: “The results of the national inpatient survey help to give us real insight into our patients’ experiences, and we are grateful to all our patients who shared their experiences.
“Our staff work incredibly hard to care for our patients each and every day and it is great to see that patients are having positive experience in our hospitals. We know that there are still opportunities to improve and learn, and we continue to be fully committed to doing so, ensuring we deliver outstanding care and the best possible experience to all.”
