Dakota Integrated Solutions Ltd, a real-time technology, printing, mobility, digital data capture and voice solution specialist, is delighted to announce that it has won a tender alongside Zebra Technologies to collaborate on a standardisation project with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
The project, part of an initiative to homogenise data capture devices and technology where appropriate across three affiliated Trusts, which include Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, Royal United Bath Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, involves the deployment of hundreds of Zebra’s new Android-based HC20 mobile computers to refresh the Trust’s legacy devices.
Designed for healthcare professionals to enable the elevation of patient care standards and operational streamlining, the Zebra HC20 is equipped with an impressive array of features specifically designed to enhance efficiency, data capture accuracy and quality.
Built using healthcare-grade plastics for convenient cleaning and disinfecting, the HC20 strikes the perfect balance between usability and functionality, thanks to its impressive communication capabilities, emergency alert button, impressive battery life and large 6-inch display.
Offering longer operating system and security patch support as well as convenient multi-bay charging options, the HC20’s integrated scanner empowers the team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust to run its in-house developed eObservation solution and stock management application on the device, without the need for additional software, helping to keep recurring costs to a minimum.
Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is one of the first hospitals in the country to deploy this forward-thinking and progressive device.
Charlie Cowan, Account Manager at Dakota comments, “We have been working alongside Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust for several years in collaboration with Zebra to support its estate of data capture and printing devices. The technical team at Zebra has also been a key component in supporting the profile building and enrolment of Zebra’s handheld devices within Microsoft Intune: a cloud-based mobile device management service that helps to manage and secure devices within a particular location, at Salisbury District Hospital. We are delighted to be part of this standardisation project with Zebra and are very much looking forward to the next stages of this exciting endeavour.”
Andy Scott, IT Service Manager at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust comments, “Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust had a requirement to update its existing aging Zebra devices, recognising the importance of maintaining strong cyber security. It was important to find a device which provides the capabilities to run our applications alongside a rugged build to reduce the risk of breakage. The Trust explored the market and felt the Zebra HC20 most appropriately met these needs. Dakota and Zebra demonstrate a deep understanding of healthcare needs and provide good technical support. We look forward to rolling out the devices and maximising the benefits these devices can bring.”
