Our innovative communication solution, featuring Virtual Care Navigator and Think Healthcare advanced NHS Cloud Telephony, revolutionises patient access and practice efficiency. By enabling 24/7 access to essential services via phone, reducing queue times, and addressing access inequalities, our solution enhances patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. Key results from this case study include 92% patient access satisfaction, the ability to move 3.5 FTE receptionists into clinical roles providing additional appointments, and efficient management of calls. Designed for NHS primary care settings, Think Healthcare allows organisations to tailor the main method of NHS/patient interaction to patients needs across all settings and areas.

Best Healthcare Technology Solution of the Year: Voice-Care Surgical Workflow – Voice-Care International Ltd

The Voice-Care Surgical Workflow has been developed alongside surgical clinicians, Heads of Governance and ICUs following discussions regarding Surgical Safety Checklists. It enables the verbal recording of any checklist before, during and after a procedure, instantly recording and uploading notes to the patient record directly from the point of care. By using voice commands, the solution guides teams through a specific procedure via a set list of questions, continually capturing critical procedural and patient information and data to ensure 100% compliance and standardisation; accurate, accessible record-keeping; and the elimination of human factor issues to enhance and improve positive patient outcomes.

Best Mental Health Technology Solution: CalmiGo – CalmiGo

Calmigo is an easy to use exhaler that helps users calm down when experiencing PTSD, a panic attack, or anxiety. The device combines sensors and machine learning to regulate breathing patterns and grounds their senses. It learns each user’s individual breathing patterns in real time and provides guidance and feedback to help extend the length of exhalation between breathing cycles effortlessly to effectively activate the parasympathetic system, which counteracts the “fight or flight” response triggered in high-stress situations. Already benefitting over 100,000 users worldwide, CalmiGo has been proven effective via clinical studies and has over 12 patents.

Best mHealth Application: Holly Health Ltd – Holly Health Ltd

Best use of Artificial Intelligence:Cera – Cera

Cera is a digital-first home healthcare company that harnesses AI technology to bring care directly to patients’ homes, transforming the healthcare landscape by providing higher quality services at a fraction of the cost. Cera’s 10,000 carers and nurses make 60,000 home visits every day, amassing one of the largest home healthcare datasets in the world.

Cera has used this data to develop a cutting-edge AI Falls Prevention tool, which has reduced patient falls by 25%, helping to save the UK government up to £1 million every day.

Best Use of Technology (Primary Care): Patchs Telephone Assistant at Lingwell Croft Surgery – Patchs Health / OneAdvanced

Lingwell Croft is the first GP practice in the UK (and possibly the world) to implement speech-recognition technology to achieve digitally-enhanced triage and reduce staff workload. Using Patchs Telephone Assistant, we have been able to put an end the ‘8am rush’ that was putting our practice, like so many others, under intolerable strain. Its ground-breaking new technology can transcribe voice calls into normal online requests and process unlimited numbers of calls in parallel.

This eliminates call waiting times, reduces staff workload, and enables all patients – regardless of their degree of technological literacy – to access the care they need.

Digital Transformation Project of the Year: NWLP LIMS Implementation Project – North West London Pathology

NWLP has undergone a monumental digital transformation, consolidating disparate legacy systems into a unified Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) across seven sites. Processing nearly 70 million interactions annually and serving 2.7 million people in North West London, the revamped system facilitates standardised onboarding and seamless staff mobility while fostering a more cohesive organisational culture. This has been invaluable for patients as they now benefit from unified, shared patient records that can be accessed at any stage or level of care, ensuring healthcare providers can make decisions in the context of a complete pathology history.

New Health Tech Innovation of the Year:Patchs Telephone Assistant – Patchs Health / OneAdvanced

Patchs Telephone Assistant offers a ground-breaking solution to the problem of the ‘8am rush’ that is presently reducing the quality-of-care offered to patients and putting practices under intolerable strain. Its ability to transcribe voice calls into normal online requests leads to a radical reduction in the number of calls to reception, freeing up staff to do other tasks while supporting digitally-enabled triage. Because Patchs Telephone Assistant can process unlimited numbers of calls in parallel, call waiting times are entirely eliminated, and all patients – regardless of their degree of technological literacy – are able to access the care they need.

Best Elderly Care Technology Solution: Intelligent Lilli – Intelligent Lilli

Lilli is a pioneering lifestyle monitoring solution that addresses one of health and social care and society’s most pressing problems – how to provide care for the increasing population of elderly people and those with chronic conditions at a time of stretched resources in a heavily burdened healthcare system. The Best Remote Monitoring solution: North Tees and Hartlepool NHS FT – NHS Health Call Solutions

Patients experience increased confidence and autonomy, while frontline teams benefit from streamlined workflows, reduced DNA’s,

increased clinical capacity and a reduction in patient wait times. Benefits to the platform include rapid titration of medications, early supportive discharge, and continuous monitoring

to ensure optimal care, improving patient stability and outcomes. With a user-friendly interface and real-time dashboard, the remote monitoring solution represents a new generation in remote care technology, driving efficiency, effectiveness, and patient satisfaction.

Best Use of Virtual Reality: Apax’s VR Wellness Program – Apax

With 100% of Apax’s residents suffering from at least one mental health issue, the supported housing organisation wanted to explore the use of virtual reality technology as a therapy tool. Engaging with trusted technology partners Tripp, Meta, and Insight, a trial enabled a small sample of residents to use the technology over an eight-week period. Its successful results – including smoking cessation, more positive thoughts, and 40% of the sample moving to independent living – has resulted in the trial now being rolled out on a wider, more permanent basis, to ultimately increase residents’ confidence and improve their overall mental wellbeing.

Health inequality remains a significant concern across the NHS, with a focus on understanding and meeting the diverse needs of vulnerable individuals and those with protected characteristics. Equality and Health Inequalities Impact Assessments (EHIA) are an integral part of this mission, but the breadth and complexity results in EHIAs being a drain on resources and poorly completed. ImpactEQ streamlines processes, provides intuitive guidance, replicates robust governance, and enables best practices in decision-making. Focusing on value-add activities, ImpactEQ facilitates high-quality assessments that identify issues and opportunities, supporting people-centric decision-making.
