The NHS COVID-19 Impact Assessment Tool (IAT) helps to provide impact assessment from a provider perspective, allowing trusts to view and analyse national Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) data, alongside a number of live data sources on COVID-19 cases by the minute, as they emerge across the globe. Spoedtestcorona is working with the Netherlands governmental portals to provide tests to schools and other institutions.

With our industry partner Isla, and across our multiple hospitals, the Isla SSI app demonstrates frontline collaboration in digital innovation, research, machine learning driven by patient needs and preferences in surgical wound assessment.

  • Best mHealth Application: iOWNA wHealth

iOWNA is a solution for clinicians to deliver personalised patient-centric interactions. It transforms clinician and patient interactions by facilitating a two-way exchange of information that engages patients in their treatment pathway: trusted condition-specific information is sent from the clinician directly to the patient’s mobile; and structured digital forms returned from the patient with valuable contextual, condition or side-effect information.   • Best Wearable Technology Solution: Carnation Ambulatory Monitor (CAM) Patch – Bardy Diagnostics Inc.

The Carnation Ambulatory Monitor (CAM) is the first P-wave-centric ECG patch monitor, designed for the optimal detection and clear recording of the P-wave. The CAM patch addresses a long-standing complaint by cardiac physicians regarding their frequent inability to clearly distinguish the P-wave on ECG strips of existing modalities.   • Best Use of Technology (Acute Care): Virtual In Hospital Visiting Service – Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust

Treating around 1 million patients annually, the Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust has always sought to modernise and invest in its health services to build upon its reputation as an organisation which continually strives to ensure that patients’ needs, requirements and wellbeing are always at the forefront of their actions. When a technology investment at the beginning of 2020 took a different course to its original deployment plan due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Trust took a pioneering approach with its newly purchased Zebra TC51-HC Touch Computers and utilised them to enable virtual visiting within its hospitals.

Harefield Hospital, a tertiary centre for Thoracic Surgery, has successfully implemented a Surgical Site Infection (SSI) surveillance platform to meet the specific needs of thoracic surgical patients with short hospital stays who have an increased risk of wound infections due to remaining indwelling devices. The implementation of the surveillance tool revolutionised management of SSI Surveillance in Thoracic Surgery, by transforming generic discharge wound advice to a personalised digital approach using a telemedical SSI-Surveillance platform. The SSI Surveillance additionally increased patient satisfaction and its implementation ensured that patients were still followed-up despite restrictions to follow-up during the COVID 19 pandemic.
