London – 2San has today announced that it has expanded into the Self Diagnostics market – as it launches a range of home testing kits at the global trade fair Medica.

The pandemic changed many things about the way we live our lives. How we work, how we shop, and how (and where) we exercise. But very importantly, it also changed the way we test for illness. New research from 2San reveals that 86% of people surveyed used lateral flow tests during the pandemic, with 87% saying using them gave them reassurance of their health status.

When asked how concerned they are about their health, via an Ipsos Mori survey of 1000 adults conducted for 2San, 46% of people in the UK said they now worry more about their health than they did pre-pandemic, with over two-thirds (67%) expressing concern that the NHS would not be able to provide them with timely health care if required.
With the NHS under extensive pressure, and patients often unable to get a same-day appointment – 79% of people in the UK are interested in the option of using self-diagnostic testing to reduce the need to visit their GP for some health conditions.
2San’s range of self-diagnostic tests will be available in the UK. Further products will be added to the range in early 2023.

Easy screening for deficiency
The Vitamin D Rapid Test is for the semi-quantitative detection of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25 (OH) D) in human fingerstick whole blood at a cut-off concentration of 30 ± 4ng/mL. This assay provides a preliminary diagnostic test result and can be used to screening for Vitamin D deficiency.

hCG Pregnancy Rapid Test
For early and easy screening
The hCG Pregnancy Rapid Test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of human chorionic gonadotropin in urine to aid in the early detection of pregnancy.

UTI Rapid Test
For easy infection detection
The Urinary Tract Infections Test comprises firm plastic strips onto which several separate reagent areas are affixed. The test is for the qualitative detection of the following analytes in urine: Blood, Protein, Nitrite and Leukocytes.
